Lake Grove
The Smith Haven Mall, which opened in March of 1969 put Lake Grove on the map. The mall’s name comes from being on the border of the Townships of Smithtown & Brookhaven. There were over 200 shops, restaurants and small retailers when it opened. This brought in new developments and the population increased rapidly. To slow down the growth, the people who lived in the area formed a committee to Incorporate the Village of Lake Grove. Since it’s inception in 1968, Lake Grove’s population has grown from 5,000 to over 11,000 in 2025.
Lake Grove today is great place for families to thrive along well-kept tree lined streets. There are several new parks for residents to enjoy…and don’t miss the summer concert series called “Groove on the Village Green” in August.
